I knew there was a pretty sizable chance that my comment the other day about Laura's cry having a "song-like tone" could come back to haunt me. Oh baby, did it ever today -- but I'll get to that in a moment. The big news of the day is that Laura experienced her first day at church. We went with the other American family that we've been hanging out with -- Eric, Sara, Nils and Karina. We believe this church is the only English speaking church in the city -- there may be one other. The people were warm and friendly, and they invited us out for a little pizza at Pizza Hut afterward. This is our third pizza meal this week. If it was up to Stephanie we'd probably eat pizza every night. Anyway.... Laura did great at church and seemed to enjoy the praise music with a couple Christmas songs. She also seemed to enjoy our time out to lunch with new friends. We began to brag on how good she was.
And then we got back to the hotel.
Laura was determined she was not going to take a nap... and she probably let everyone in the hotel know it with her powerful vocals. After much effort -- kisses and squeaking her favorite toy "crabby" and giving her a bottle -- she finally settled down. A little later (after she woke up) we got her ready to take a Christmas picture for her Nana and Grandad in Virginia. It turned out to be one crazy photo shoot. Laura cried, screamed and all but dismantled a couple Christmas props we tried to get into the shots. She was either looking up, looking down, crying or trying to eat her dress. We must of took about 100 shots. We finally took one with her smiling and one other with her ... well, trying to eat her dress. This was all good until we realized she had a couple little smudges of lunch on her face. We sent them anyway and we'll find out from Nana what she thinks... After Laura had some more to eat and a little medicine for her new little tooth coming in, she was a much happier camper.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics...(we threw in one other with her wearing a little Halloween outfit) -- gotta go. Laura is waking up and she isn't happy.
